We recently spent a lovely week in Invermere, BC. It’s a quaint resort town that caters to tourists year round. In the winter you can stay and ski at Panorama. In the summer you can rent a boat and spend the day on Lake Windermere. Invermere has so many charming attributes. The wildlife is abundant, the lake is picturesque, the mountains are breathtaking. We spent the week exploring some fabulous hikes, see that post here. We also spent an inordinant amount of time eating! If you are going to Invermere BC, eat here!

Gerry’s Gelati (aka Stolen Church Gelato and Coffee)

Gerry's Gelati Invermere BC
  • Made with natural ingredients, this fresh gelato is gluten free if you order it in a cup, not a cone and stay away from such things as cookies and cream. We enjoyed gelato on the patio on more than one occasion. Flavors we tried included peaches and cream, chocolate and burnt caramel, and espresso (pictured above). We also tried london fog, banana cream pie, and coconut. A stop to sample their offerings is highly recommended!

Peppi’s Italian Fuel

Peppi's Italian Fuel restaraunt Inveremere BC
  • Peppi’s is an iconic restaraunt in Invermere and as our air bnb host proclaimed, it’s not summer till you’ve had Peppi’s pizza on the patio. They had the most incredible pizza menu with unique offerings such as vegetarian nightmare, clove and vine, and chicken pesto. Their traditional pepperoni was delicious too. Peppi’s can make your pizza on a gluten free crust and it was tasty! If you are going to Invermere BC, eat here!

The Bakery – Invermere

Invermere bakery
  • The reviews we read about the bakery said they had incredibly tasty baking that wasn’t overly sweet. We found this to be true. Everything was so fresh and flavorful, and there was an amazing variety. What put us over the moon however, was their incredible selection of gluten free baked goods! They had the most amazing gluten free french bread, not to be missed! (Know before you go: it gets busy, go early so you’re not disappointed.)

Smokehouse 93

  • The most incredible smoked bbq chicken, pork, beef, ribs etc. The side dish offerings we sampled included mac and cheese made with smoked cheddar, maple ale baked beans, smoked potatoe dill salad, and jalapeno cheddar cornbread. Everything was greatly enjoyed by our group. The smoked meats are all gluten free and they offer gluten free buns too. (Heads up! They sell out so call early in the day and place your order, then pick it up at meal time!)

Fubuki Sushi

Fubuki Sushi invermere bc
  • Their menu is extensive and their sushi was fresh and flavorful. Best of all, their menu has all gluten free items clearly marked. We enjoyed it so much that we forgot to take a picture for the blog!

Konig Meat and Sausage Company

  • We popped in one day and purchased an assortment of different sausage sticks. They are all handmade and all gluten free. (Pro tip: plan a hike and a picnic. Pick up some sausage here and some of the divine pretzels or gluten free french bread at the bakery and you’re set!)

There are many more places to eat that we didn’t get the chance to try so I guess we will just have to make another trip! For ideas on things to do while you’re in Invermere, make sure you check out this post.
