With only a day to spend in Kotor, Montenegro during our mediterranean tour, I chose to spend it in Old Town. I have to say, it’s medieval charm did not disappoint! Visiting this beautiful town is like travelling back in time. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and it is an incredibly unique place. Old town is surrounded by bulwarks, walls and moats which fortified the town. Inside, it is a maze of streets where you can become delightfully lost. We learned that the town was built this way on purpose, to confuse enemy invaders if they made it past the fortifications. Today if you become lost, you will simply enjoy some lovely al fresco dining and boutique shopping.
