We Nirvana Girls like our food a little extra. A little hotter, a little more flavorful, a little more fun! Hence, buffalo hot wings that are sooo extra! This is a super easy way to impress friends, family, or company. Whip up a batch of homemade hot sauce and all of a sudden you’re a gourmet cook!

Buffalo wings, cajun wings, and honey garlic wings
-Because one kind of wing wasn’t enough.

The Wings:

  • 1 1/2 pounds chicken wings
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt

We like to order organic, free range, hormone free, chicken. This means the wings are massive, meaty, and flavourful. You don’t have to go to these lengths however, you can grab a bag of frozen wings from the store if you want! Just make sure to defrost them before baking. Preheat the oven to 250F. Coat the wings with baking powder, and salt. Use a silpat or grease the baking sheet, and distribute the wings ensuring they don’t touch. Bake for 35 minutes, then change the temperature to 425F and bake for another 45 minutes, or until you reach your desired level of crispyness. (Not sure that’s a word, but I like it)

The Sauce:

  • 2/3 Cup Franks Hot Sauce
  • 1/4 Cup Butter
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1/4 tsp Chipotle Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Onion Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Ancho Chilli Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Cayenne Powder

Combine ingredients in a small sauce pan and bring to a simmer. Simmer on low heat for 10 minutes. Transfer cooked wings into a large bowl, pour in sauce and toss to coat evenly. If you figure out how to do this without making a mess or losing a wing let me know!
